P.I. Engineering produces RailDriver Cab Controller for computer simulator
train games, TrainMaster CD, and cyclopedias on CD for model building. Feature

division of P.I. Engineering launched in July 2002 with the purpose of
providing train cab controls that would be capable of running most train
simulation programs. Headed up by a train fanatic, and backed by a team of
like-minded railroad aficionados, RailDriver™ was created, and the division
released the Desktop Train Cab Controller in December of 2002. Given that
Microsoft Train Simulator had no provision for hardware connection and no
mechanism in place to provide feedback to hardware, this was no small feat.
The engineering team designed a method of capturing the 'Heads Up Display'
from the screen and using Optical Character Recognition to read speed, brake
pressure, and lever position and feed it to the RailDriver™. RailDriver™
remains dedicated to the train simulation community and is always making every
effort to support both current and future train simulation programs with
prototypical hardware, in order to provide the most immersive train experience

Computer Software - CD -- 1922 Locomotive Cyclopedia RailDriver reference software brings you hard-to-find bookson easy-to-use CD-ROMs. Each book has been painstakingly scanned, the text read and the images embedded so that they are easily navigated just like a Web site. While optimized for Microsoft Internet Explorer, the CDs can also be read on other systems including Macintosh. Railway cyclopedias were packed with photos and minutae ranging from boiler drawings to the general arrangements of trackside appliances. Drawings, photos and charts were used by railroaders for maintenance and modifications. Because the information was supplied by the railroads or their suppliers, everything is accurate, making this information a must for modelers wanting to recreate railroading as it was in the steam era. Also included on each CD is the RailDriver Scale Print Utility (PC only) that makes it easy to enlarge or reduce the drawings and photos to any size.
